Zines, Writings, Resources...and such

Explorations of Feminine Power: Taking Space and Finding Place; Volume 1, is an  exploration of my experiences as a woman within radical and progressive spaces. It explores issues of patriarchy, capitalism, sexism, and misogyny within the world of social activism.

It also spends some time examining best practices for interpersonal violence prevention and explores strategies for engaging with male fragility so that toxic masculinity might perhaps, someday, be addressed. With feminist artwork, images, and academic resources, this work book offers a deeply personal and transformative journey through patriarchy and the movement.

I have a limited number of copies of this zine in print, and will occasionally offer them on donation at various gatherings and events.

As part of my work as a sexual violence prevention specialist, I have observed the major role that mainstream pornography and pop-culture plays in creating patterns of sexual exploitation and abuse.

Beyond contributing to sexual violence, mainstream pornography and pop-culture also communicate a lot of misinformation about how to ask for sexual pleasure and how to be a good sexual partner.

In an effort to mitigate some of the harm of these forms of media, I have compiled a list of alternative resources to help us all hook up with sexual pleasure that is mutual and non-exploitative or abusive. Unlearning our sexual socialization takes a lot of study, frank dialogue, and practice. And this is just a starting point for that work.

This resource list has been curated with an intention to represent a diversity of sexual orientations and identities. If you have a suggestion for how to make this resource list more inclusive, please send me an email. Furthermore, if you know of any resources that are not on this list but should be, email them to me and I'll get them on the list. Thanks in advance for your contributions and feedback!

This resource list is accessible as a Google Doc, and is constantly growing as I find new resources to add to it. Feel free to explore and share it with your partners, lovers, and friends!

McNair Research Project & Lecture

In 2015 I was honored to be selected as a McNair Scholar and given the opportunity to conduct and present original research in my field of trauma study. These publications are the culmination of that research. I am available to present on these topics and have limited printed copies of my research paper and will occasionally offer them on donation at various conferences, gatherings, or events.
