Play Day, Wednesday April 5th
Today we welcomed our new friend Sibyl to our play school community. Sibyl LOVED wearing the tool belt and working with the tools, and spent quite a long while fixing stuff for us.
Something new we learned about Sibyl today was that their favorite animals are giraffes and panda bears, and that they REALLY like cashews.
Lorax celebrated spring today by shapeshifting into a drag bug collecting flowers from around our garden, and showing Sibyl all the cool play spots.
Since the day was dry we set up some outdoor art, sensory, and play stations. We enjoyed some messy painting fun, bubble blowing, and mat tumbling. Then, had some snack time in the snack fort.
Sibyl was really into the hand washing station today, which really became just another play station for the two of them. And, I found out that they are much more receptive to an invitation to play at the water station than they are to an invitation to wash their hands.
After a meal of roasted and herbed yams with nettle pesto for lunch, we headed out for our afternoon walk around the neighborhood. Lorax was excited to show Sibyl all three of our neighborhood playgrounds. With the dry weather, we ran into lots of neighbors who shared good chats and fun playtime with us.
It was a great day of play, in our neighborhood.
