Play Day, Wednesday April 26th

Today was an epic day of play and adventure. We were all happy to be enjoying a sunny day outside after days of rain and clouded skies.

We began the day with an invitation of art projects and sensory play. Sibyl was really interested in practicing their scissor skills this week again, and got thoroughly immersed in cutting squares of paper into smaller and smaller sections.

By midday it was time for our walk to see what was going on in neighborhood. We found a new little free library and we were excited to find a handful of literary treasures. We took a stop to sit on a sunny bench, read our new books, and share a snack.

I suggested that since we had had so much rain the last few days, it could be a great time to go mushroom foraging. We got our eyes ready, shape shifted into forest fairies and went searching. And found so many different kinds of mushrooms to inspect, observe, and get to know. We collected a few for a spore printing, and will be using those prints for some art projects in the coming weeks.

The rest of the day we free played outside and observed all the busy happenings in the garden. We found the strawberries putting on their flowers, the poppies were popping, seedlings were ready for transplanting, and dandelions were waiting to be blown on the wind.

It was a special day for Lorax Lavender, who planted a lavender plant under their little fig tree, and lovingly blessed their growing and companionship.

Fun was had by all, and it was a beautiful day of play adventure, and, connection.

Thanks friends,

Miz Flow
