Play Day, Wednesday May 3rd
Hello friends!
Today we welcomed a new member to our play school community! Baby Ryan joined us for their first day today. We had been having lots of baby play and interest in babies lately, so we were all very excited to welcome Baby Ryan into our group. I'm especially excited about the cross learning that will happen as Ryan gets encouragement and inspiration from what the older children can do with their bodies, and the older children learn how to be more aware of their bodies and caring for a someone smaller and younger than them.
Since we've been blessed with an extended spring visit from the sun this whole week, we enjoyed lots of time playing outside today. Lorax started the day excited to paint explore the art table offerings of the day, and learning how to hold and load the bow they were gifted from their Grandma Sherry earlier this week. Their skill level is building every day and they are developing quite the interest in archery! We have had to adapt to the occasional and random flying "arrows" but are happy that they are exploring this interest.
Baby Ryan and Lorax enjoyed some lovely and gentle play in the meadow today, and it was quite beautiful to witness the two of them play together as birds swooped and sang all around them. Later Affia and Lorax got in some good pool time, and water play.
For the last part of our day together, we took our daily walk around the neighborhood and stopped to play at the park. Ryan was curious about the grass and flowers and got an abundance of sensory play throughout the day in between naps and eating! They thoroughly enjoyed crawling around under the shade of the tree canopy, and getting to know Tommy.
Tommy of course just followed our lead and enjoyed laying in the cool grass and watching the kids play.
Thanks for the lovely day friends!
