Wow, what a full day of play and exploration today!

We started this rainy day in our playroom with some body movement in the form of dance and practicing our yoga poses, and then sat for a morning snack of ripe strawberries.

After our morning play, we put on our rain gear, grabbed our umbrellas, and headed outside for our daily walk around the neighborhood. On the way to and from the park, Lila, Lorax, and Sibyl stopped to get their fill of tree hugging, flower sniffing, and puddle splashing fun.

After our rainy walk and park play, we made our way back to our play school for a lunch of sweet potato soup, sliced apples and nut butter, and of course Sibyl's favorite, cashews. Lunch was followed by some rest time and reading. We decided to read the Strawberry Shortcake book that we had picked up from the little free library that day, and were all so in love with world of strawberry shortcake and her friends! After some free play time, we thought it would be fun to hammer open the nut we had found on our walk and take a look at it under the microscope.

Since it had stopped raining , we decided to head back outside and spend some time foraging for some spring time plant medicine. We approached our very own fir tree "Grandfather Fir", and asked if it was okay for us to harvest some of their spring tips for medicine making. We had great time feeling the softness of the tips and were happy to leave behind an offering of carrot muffins to the tree in gratitude. After our work with the Fir tree, we went to gather flowers from a neighboring bush for flower vases and for flower pressing.

Afterwards we got some art time in...

Then back outside for an afternoon snack of flax seed chips and pinto beans with nutritional yeast in the tree fort..

And then free play the rest of the day...

Thanks so much for our play today friends!
