Hi Friends, welcome to our day!

Through the Autumn season, our group will be spending Wednesdays practicing our swimming skills and deepening our relationship with water. We are blessed to have access to such an ideal environment to develop these practices at Kennedy Soaking Pool.

Before getting into the pool, we walked the halls for some art viewing. The imagery of the art lit their curiosity and had them all wondering and guessing at the story of the pieces.

Today was our first day of swim play, and the next time we visit this pool, the fall equinox would have passed. I am excited for these kiddos to watch the fall seasonal display from this place once a week! We took a bit of time to observe the trees and plants in the pool garden, and made a plan to check in on them each week, to see what we can see.

Swim time was such an imaginary adventure for this group, and their water play incorporated themes of ships, whales, dolphins, and diving boards. And the bubbles, well they were the source of some interesting storylines for sure :)

There were a few toddler kiddos in the pool who watched our group's play in awe, trying to imitate their jumps and finding so much joy and laughter in just watching. I think our group was all very excited to put on a show for the littles to enjoy.

After our morning swim, we headed for our favorite roof top lunch spot, and this time, the kiddos were happy with just two elevator rides up and down before deciding they were hungry enough to sit for lunch.

Our after lunch walk down Woodstock led us to some imaginative culinary play, and I was treated with all the delicious dishes I could imagine to order.

Back at play school preparing for the end of our day together, everyone was very curious about my crocodile head and how I got it. If you're curious yourself, they might be excited if you were to ask them about it. I'm sure they will love retelling the tall tale!

Enjoy our photo journal of the day!
