Lorax and I started the day with a story game, taking a slow and relaxed morning to sit with each other, our breakfast, and share silly stories while watching the drizzle come down outside our window.
After our slow morning, we got geared up for our rainy and wet forest day. With rain boots and jackets, snacks and lunch, hot tea thermos and our favorite toy friends all packed we headed out to see what was happening in our super sacred "backyard" forest at Errol Heights Park.
We were excited to find mushrooms of many different varieties, signs of beaver activity, fall leaves, water falls, and so much more. There were some heavy downpours throughout the day, making for a muddy hike.
Mid afternoon we decided we wanted to venture on to see what was happening with the ducks over at the rhododendron garden. Before leaving we set an alter and asked that the forest be protected until our next visit.
Over at the duck pond the sun came out and we were blessed with a sun drenched late afternoon. On the way home we were fortunate enough to be on the edge of sun and storm and were able to get an awesome image of calm before the storm. I guess the image could speak to things beyond the weather as it was taken in the middle of a Lents neighborhood intersection where major development is happening.
Enjoy our photo journal of the day!
