Today was one of my very special and sacred 1 on 1 days with Lorax. With summer over, Tom's been joining us again and we're so very happy to include them on our Tuesday adventures!
For today's curriculum, I thought it would be a good idea to teach Lorax the fine art of busking. We had a mountain of figs from the epic fig harvest we had done the day before, so we bagged some up in purdy little paper and twine gift bags, and set up outside of a neighborhood market.
Lorax picked up busking pretty quick, playing the ukulele and singing "Figs for sale." Quite a few of our good friends came to support Lorax's learning and purchased a bag or few of figs, so thanks! They also made out pretty good with the unknown shoppers who couldn't resist the cuteness of a child, a ukulele, and their enthusiasm for the figs they had harvested. Lorax got to tell their story of fig harvesting about 100 times, and made enough fed notes to buy a new pair of pink rainboots! I think we can consider busking a mastered skill of theirs :)
We took the rest of our afternoon to visit a few of our sacred spaces and investigate the unfolding of the fall season in those lands.
We needed our day with gratitude, prayers, and offerings for another day spent together; wild and free.
Enjoy our photo journal of the day!
