Monday February 26, 2018

Today our integrated play day began with hearth arts. Our work of the morning was to collaborate together to make us some gluten free and vegan corn bread muffins for our lunch circle.

We took turns adding our ingredients, mixing and stirring with the electric hand mixer, and scooping out hearty muffin sized portions into the pans. Then together we carried it to the hearth stove, giving it a little blessing on the way in to pray that our love be baked into the bread.

After hearth arts we layered up and spent the rest of the morning out in the playschool yard engaged in the much favored activity of digging up and collecting worms, and flipping over every heavy object they could find in search of crawly creatures.

We paused for lunch circle, and were so excited to eat up our fresh corn bread muffins with our meal.

After eating all the muffins their bodies could eat, we headed back outside. The Moon Flowers carried on a game of predator bird, and the Moon Blossoms putzed around in the meadow for a bit and took turns on the tree slide before their resting time, when they fell fast asleep to me playing them some ukulele lullabies.

After nap and outside play, the whole group collaborated to put a puzzle together and destroy it a few times over. Puzzle working gave way to story play, and their props for the day puzzled me, and I got a whole lot of joy just watching them get lost in their story. We shared a music circle and everyone was excited to get a turn to play on playschool's new piano!

Bout that time we noticed it was creepin' up on our good bye circle time, so we headed outside for some last outside play and tree climbing practice before ending our day and gathering for our goodbye ritual.

Enjoy the memories of our day <3
