We shared a lovely slow paced day today, enjoying our playschool together and lounging around in the late winter golden~hued sunshine falling from the sky and onto our skin.

As we walked the garden together we all shared that we could hear and feel the flowers blooming, and I suggested that maybe what we were sensing was our hearts opening along with the plants and flowers. It must be true because we all took the longest time to stand absolutely still, watching as we caught sight of the very first pair of butterflies and bumble bee prance and buzz around the playschool garden. What joy to share in such a simple yet profound experience with dear friends. Observing and noting the seasonal shifts, integrating memory and sensory, establishing ways of knowing and practice.

It felt so very good to swing the doors open, let the music play, and wander around engaging and exploring as we pleased. At times the group worked and played together, and at times I found each of them quietly immersed in their own projects or story.

The tree hammock, tree slide, water station, the Climbing Tree, and the meadow were all favorite spots and I noticed that they developed some sort of agreements around who got to claim which spot as their dedicated alone space for the day.

After singing the babes to sleep we took some time for some focused learning with some Hearth Arts. It was just about time for afternoon snack so we continued our learning and practicing with how to make our own snacks. I put out a range of fruits and veggies for them to choose from and guided them in rinsing produce, selecting appropriate tools, and chopping.

They got tons of practice planning a snack, using their butter knives to cut up their choice of green grapes and red strawberries, and of course cleaning up afterwards. And if you watch the vid clip below, you'll get a chance to watch them thoroughly enjoy the snack they made. But fer serious, these kiddos ate their grapes so intensely, I thought I might have to remind them to breath.

Enjoy the moments from our day <3
