Yo playschool folks! I'll be workin' on catchin' up on admin work through the weekend. So sorry for the delay, as well as the flood of adventure stories comin' yer way...

Today was a most beautiful early Fall day, with lots of sunshine and opportunities to engage all of our senses in observing the changing landscape.

We started the day with our morning ritual, then had some fun with Hearth Arts and making our daily bread. Violet's amazement with the hand mixer never gets old, ever. Their giggles as they mixed the dough made our morning most memorable.

After Hearth Arts we packed up the wagon, grabbed some baskets, and set off adventuring around the neighborhood to see what was what. We foraged acorns, nasturtiums, flowers, leaves, and so many other fun and curious thangs.

By time we finally made it to the park, our group was ready for lunch and free play. We spent hours just lounging at the park and picnicking in the sweet autumn sunshine. These friends also had a very fine time rolling down hills, and playing in leaves. Baby Z got so much practice using their body to climb on and over thangs, and even trudged uphill multiple times trying to keep up with the big kiddos. Their attempts at rolling were hilarious.

Mabel, as the oldest friend in our circle today, took their responsibilities with great care, and was so very supportive to Elliot, Cora, and Baby Z. I got lots of support from both Mabel and Violet in helping with naps, and makin' sure that Baby Z was nice n' fed.

The late afternoon was spent in the garden, exploring the squash plants and gourds growin' in there, and investigating all the treasures found on our walk.

At our end of day ritual, our friends suggested a trading circle, where they all had a very grand time trading acorns with each other. I had spent a good part of our afternoon hearth arts demonstrating and teaching about acorn processing, how acorn is a food source, and about acorn cakes. I was blessed to be able to see these kiddos take these teachings to heart and how quickly they turned our baskets of foraged acorns into highly treasured trade currency. Acorn cakes, are what they really want.

Okee y'allz, enjoy these memories of our day.

xo, Miz Flow
