Oh my goodness. What a day we shared, on this day.
It was a most special day since our new playschool friend, Kaan the Magician came to hang with us fer the day.
Turns out, the kiddos all really like this one, and I guess so do I some. And just like that, our playschool family grew by one more friend. Thanks fer welcoming my friend, friends!
To start the day, Lorax helped some of us shape shifted into wildcats. We passed a whole lotta the mornin' climbing and moving wood chip mountains. Cuz you know, Autumn chores. While we moved wood chips the kiddos got their seasonal ramble about the how's and why's of wood chips and what they do (besides providing infinate hours of imaginative story and play of course). Around the playschool yard and in the learning garden we tucked trees and plants in fer winter, and investigated mushrooms and mycelial mats. After four years of laying mountains of wood chips down and various spore introductions, our garden is home to lots of mycelial and fungi activity. And the kiddos are way into investigating these. Soooo coooool!
After some time I took full advantage of having an assistant fer the day, and we got to bring the playschool bikes out of the playschool yard fer some street and sidewalk play. There were races, and games of Chicken. Somehow they managed to not even once run over Baby Z, who was dedicated to standing right in the middle of the raceway. There was also lots of magic tricks, puddle splashing, and saying hello to the neighbor pups.
Our afternoon held a sweet gratitude circle and shared lunch of vegan mac n' cheese and roasted potatoes. And fer our Hearth Arts session of the day, we worked together to make our ancestor cake fer our afternoon ritual. Through the day we talked a whole lot about our ancestors, gratitude, and the necessity of offering our prayers and blessings. We were all very grateful fer the sunshine, and their role as one of our eldest ancestors.
In our last hour of the day we were treated to a very special magic show from our magician friend, as well as all the balloon animal creations we could ask fer. There was even magic fire spit balls...that the kids got to spit at our magician's face through a straw. That he caught with his teeth. Fur realz.
Ask them aboutz it.
We gathered fer afternoon ritual, formed a procession to the ancestor with our offerings, feasted on our chocolate ancestor cake, and ended our day as we do; in free play.
Thanks so very much fer a very special and memorable keepsake day of play, ritual, and magic today my friendz.
I'll keep this one in my pocket on standby, just fer when the time comes that I need to call to memory a happy place I've been. I felt way loved today. Thanks again y'all.
